No need to go to the gym. No need for fancy equipment. Is motivation the only thing getting in the way of your workout?

Maybe you are in a time crunch or maybe weather has kept you bottled up inside, but there’s a solution to these obstacles.

Maybe you are in a time crunch or maybe weather has kept you bottled up inside, but there’s a solution to these obstacles. The most important first step is figuring out what’s motivating you. This means asking yourself a vital question: “Do I want to get well enough so I’m willing to get up and move?” If you answer “no” to that question, then you need to look more deeply into why. Are you depressed? Feeling anxious? If yes, then you may have a wall to break through with the help of your fitness trainer or loved one(s). If the answer is “yes”, further explore your motivation by asking yourself: “What feeling do I get that makes it worthwhile to work out? What makes life worth living?” The answer, whether it’s to play ball with your grandchildren or climb a mountain with your spouse, is what will make you get up, get moving, and keep moving!

It Takes Work

If you want to be fit, healthy, lose weight or see other positive health changes, it takes work. If you’re ready and you know what’s motivating you and what you’re living for, then you can choose to start now with this simple Olympics-inspired 15-minute workout. You can incorporate it into your travel, modify it for bad weather, or for when you don’t have a lot of time. Of course, several of these exercises should be adjusted to meet any personal medical issues such as a bad shoulder or injured knee.

If you have specific questions about how to adapt these exercise for you, please let me know. What drives you to work out?
